No. The Lern Up Coach is an AI, not a teacher, and it says so at the start of every conversation. It explains, asks questions, gives hints instead of answers and checks your replies on the worksheet. We can’t promise a particular result, such as passing an exam.

French and German, from A1 (complete beginner) to B2 (upper intermediate). Both languages are included in every plan; you choose the language before you start. The coach explains in English whenever you need it.

Both. Talk to the coach out loud with your microphone, or switch to chat when you’re on the train or in a quiet office. Speaking is best for pronunciation and fluency; chat is great for grammar and written exercises.

Yes, but far fewer than speaking: starting a chat costs 1 minute, then every 10 messages you send cost 1 more minute. A chat with 20 messages uses 3 minutes. You can always see your remaining minutes in the coach.

For regular practice, two to four sessions a month are a good start. The subscriptions include 200 minutes per month – four 50-minute sessions or, for example, ten 20-minute sessions. Only real conversation time is counted.

The coach starts again in your next billing month. If you need more before then, you can buy a single session (50 minutes) at any time. We never charge you automatically for extra minutes. Unused minutes expire at the end of the month.

Yes. Upload a photo or PDF – a worksheet, a page from your textbook, a letter or a form – and the coach goes through it with you. Please only photograph the text itself, not names, addresses or faces of other people.

Teenagers and adults who want to learn French or German: expats settling into a new country, students preparing for a semester abroad, professionals who need the language at work, or anyone who wants to finally speak with confidence. If you’re under 16, please sign up with a parent’s email address.

The Lern Up Coach is currently available for customers in the EU only. If you’re outside the EU, please don’t buy a plan yet – if a purchase from outside the EU happens anyway, we may cancel it and refund your payment in full.

Yes. With the 6- and 12-month plans you pay the monthly amount (€43.96 or €39.96) every month, not all at once. In return, the contract has a fixed term of 6 or 12 months. Compared with the monthly plan you save €24 or €96.

When you take out a 6-month plan, you get 50 extra minutes once in your first month; with the 12-month plan you get 100 extra minutes – on top of the 200 minutes per month. Bonus minutes are only valid in the first billing month, then expire and can’t be paid out.

Online, no phone call needed: go to Cancel your contract. The monthly plan ends at the end of the current billing month. 6- and 12-month plans end at the end of their fixed term; if you don’t cancel, they continue as a monthly plan and can then be cancelled at any time with one month’s notice.

Payments are handled by Stripe: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA Direct Debit, PayPal or Klarna. You get a receipt by email and don’t need to create an account first – tap a plan, pay, and access is instant. You have a 14-day right of withdrawal; if you already use the coach during that time, you only pay for the part you used. Details in the withdrawal policy.

Yes, directly in your browser, no app needed. Allow the microphone and use headphones if you can – it makes the conversation clearer. You can also install the site as an app on your home screen.
